Phyllis has just been elected director of the North American Jane Austin Society, she is a speech language pathologist who is intrigued by the diversity amongst her fellow beings, and has written a book which is the title of her talk.  

Luncheon served at 11:30am

Everybody, including husbands, is welcome to join us for this special event. Please car pool, and please register as soon as possible.

This is an organized tour which will begin on time, at 11:00am, so please arrive early to allow enough time for a washroom break.  A tour guide will meet us in the parking lot. Please wear comfortable shoes and a light jacket as the tunnel temperature is 12 C. 

We hope there will be no highway closures that day; the highway administration information is www.drivebc.ca  click on popular routes.

We will be going for lunch at The Copper House. Restaurant and Lounge in Shannon Falls after the tour which is just 5 -10 minutes away.

Antiques Road Show with Al Bowan

Cost: $20.00.  

This includes an appraisal of whatever prize possession you may bring, jewellery, china, books or anything you can carry.  Cost includes a light lunch.

Mr. Bowan is from Coquitlam and is a  well-known and respected appraiser, with a resume that includes work for the MacMillan Bloedel collections of aboriginal art, a stint as guest curator for the Vancouver Museum and clinics across the country and internationally. His clients have included museums, municipalities, universities and numerous private collections. 

Mr. Bowen will provide a detailed history, description and verbal appraisal of heirlooms and antiques. We will be able to find out the out the worth of our treasures, whether it is monetary or historical,  and he can  appraise objects from just about any area.

Please bring your best recipe to celebrate the publishing of our newest cookbook “The Best of the Underground Gourmet”. Recipes should be taken from one of the Underground Gourmet cookbooks, however if you don't have one bring one of your own favourite recipes.  Warming ovens are availble for heating up your special dish.

Copies of our new cookbook will be available for sale at the lunch. They make an excellent gift - Mother's Day, Graduation, House Warming, the list is endless.

Please tell phoners what dish you will be bringing, and please bring appropriate serving utensils.

The Producers

The Producers is a comedy-musical that opened on April 19, 2001 on Broadway and ran for 2,502 performances winning a record breaking 12 tony awards, and breaking the record for the largest single day box office gross in theatre history. We have block booked 20 tickets that have to be claimed by April 20th, a month before we go.  
 
Our idea to meet at a restaurant before the show is still in the planning stage.  Details will be in the May Drift.

Spouses and guests are more than welcome.  A number of members who have already seen this production are planning to join us for dinner, so come out and join us even just for the dinner itself.
